First, all teachers, including the principals, must attend lectures on the theory and practice. Each lecture is for 3 hours, but this can be adjusted to 90 minutes. Then, the following can be applied.
1

A homeroom teacher designates a day for character education and spends 1 hour every month. The teacher can utilize an ethics class.

2

The method used at home can be applied. Students should prepare a practice notebook. After monthly character education, students can write down their thoughts and promises in the notebook. Then, students themselves can check and keep track of how these promises were carried out. Make sure the promises are age-appropriate, detailed and easy enough to be put into practice. Teachers can check the practice notebooks from time to time, and encourage the students to keep their promises. Having a couple of students present their experience during an education session is recommended.

3

Homeroom teachers can repeat the phrases, "always stay happy" and "think of the other person’s perspective first" out loud during every morning assembly. Replace the phrase "think of the other person’s perspective first" with something like "be considerate of your friends," which may be a little easier for them to understand.

4

Schools can collect students' "character education practice journals" at the end of the school year and present some of the best examples to encourage students to put the lessons into actual practice.

# As in the examples below, children’s practice goals should be easy enough for them to accomplish.
Here are some examples when the lesson is "stay happy."

I will say that I am happy when I wake up in the morning.

I will say that I am happy and smile whenever I look in the mirror.

I will repeat that I am happy when I am walking.

I will say that I am happy when I see flowers.

I will write to my parents and tell them that I am happy every week.

I will talk with a friend and tell him or her that I am happy at least once a day.

I will say to myself I am happy, and that I have strong legs and can walk whenever I put my shoes on.

I will say to myself that I am happy at every meal.

I will frequently whisper that I am happy. It is okay if a child emulates others'. Children can also repeat what they have done before.

# When saying the phrases out loud as a group, make it sound cheerful. Let's suppose the phrase is "I am happy."

While exercising or marching on the spot, repeat "I am happy".

Sing a song that everyone knows. Replace some of the lyrics with "I am happy."

Homeroom teachers and teachers for each subject can cooperate and follow these directions.

Each teacher for each subject spares 15 minutes of his or her class time once every month for character education.

1 teacher teaches 1 virtue a year. Students can learn 10 virtues if there are 10 teachers.

Each teacher collects 10 short stories about the virtue of their choice.

Each of these stories is told to the students every month for character education. The method used at home can be applied. Students should prepare a practice notebook. After monthly character education, students can write down their thoughts and promises in the notebook. Then, the students themselves can check and keep track of how these promises were carried out. Homeroom teachers can repeat the phrases, "always stay happy" and "think of the other person’s perspective first," out loud at every morning assembly. For middle school students, the phrase, "think of the other person’s perspective first" can be replaced by something like "be considerate of your friends," which may feel a little more personal to them.
