With sadness, we inform you that the chairman Lee, Yong-Tae passed away on April 14th. Chairman Lee Yong-tae foresaw the potential of the PC industry early on and founded the Trigem Computer in June 1980 and opened the PC industry in Korea by developing the first PC in Korea. He led the Korean IT industry to where it is today also by successfully carrying out the administrative computer network business during his time as president of Dacom and establishing the Thrunet to be the first in Korea to launch high-speed Internet service. After stepping down from the front lines of management due to the bankruptcy of Trigm Computer in the early 2000s in the midst of fierce market competition due to the participation of the conglomerates (major corporations) in Korea, he devoted himself to character education through Bakyakhoe(博約會), and layed the foundation for character education in Korea. Domestic media outlets reported the news of Chairman Lee's passing, calling him in such words as the 'pioneer of the Korean PC industry', 'father of the Korean PC industry', 'godfather of the Korean IT industry', and 'giant of the Korean IT industry', and mourned his passing by saying, 'A great star of the Korean IT industry has fallen', also speaking about the character education he devoted himself to in later years.
